The Breville JE98XL is a one of a kind juicer that can slice through veggies and fruits in a jiffy. Its 3-inch feeder ensures that you save time by not needing to chop the fruits into pieces. An entire fruit or vegetable can be pushed into the chute, and the juicer will do the rest. It also comes with a food pusher to get the job done. The efficiency may not be as good as other high-end juicers, but given its extraordinarily budget price and ultra quick turnaround time, the low-level efficiency can be lived with. It can be cleaned within a few minutes as well. So, if you are late for work but lacking in nutrition, just dump all the nutritious foods into the juicer, drink the juice and get the required nourishment, and clean the juicer before rushing to your workplace, all this within just about 10 minutes!
Ease of Use
The Breville JE98XL is equipped with almost all the available technology to help you clean the juicer quite easily. Just place the fruits and veggies on the open top, push them down with the help of the pusher, and watch as the 850 Watt motor does its work.
Cleaning up the juicer is also as easy as it gets. All the parts can be easily removed. Almost every other part is dishwasher safe, except the filter basket, the Nutri Disc, and the pusher. It is not an overwhelming task to manually clean those parts as well.
The Breville JE98XL has been constructed to be an affordable juicer producing a decent quality of juice. A juice connoisseur is bound to find quite a few anomalies with the extracted juice, but a common regular drinker will hardly be able to discern any. Sometimes you may find some soggy pulp residue in the container. At other times, froth might be visibly formed, but you can easily get rid of that with the aid of froth separator that comes included. Admittedly, the juice quality is quite a few degrees below that of a masticating juicer, but you are not spending as much either.
The juice yielded during the first round was quite okay. I had to make the juicer undergo a few more rounds of extractions in order to get the optimum quantity for the amount of fruits dumped inside. However, given the quick turnaround time, the efficiency doesn’t really matter.
The exceptional power produced by the Breville JE98XL is unmatched for other juicers in its range. It is decidedly the most powerful of the lot. However, the construction is a bit of a concern, due to which the body of the juicer tends to vibrate a lot.
The JE98XL produces quite a bit of noise, no doubt about that. And as mentioned in the previous section, its unnecessary vibration adds to that noise. On the other hand, it is not overly loud to get your eardrums pounding. At the end of the day, it is a budget juicer and you have to compromise on a few aspects of the same.
Pros and Cons
Exceptionally Easy to Use.
An extra wide chute lets you dump whole fruits or vegetables inside, albeit overly large fruits may need some chopping.
Juicing on the Go.
You can prepare any amount of juice within no time. The dual speed control lets you easily shift between soft fruits and hard vegetables. No extra cutting required.
Dishwater safe parts that can get dismantled without much effort can help you clean the juicer without much hassle.
It is one of the cheapest juicers come out of the Breville brand, but quite efficient for the price.
The loud noise produced by the juicer while running may get irritating at times. However, it is not as loud as most other juicers in the price range.
Given the exceptional large power of the juicer and its relatively low construction quality, vibrations cannot really be avoided. It doesn’t spout anything out of the top, however. Just to be on the safer side, I prefer applying a bit of pressure on the lid.
Sometimes the juicer is found to be highly efficient. At other times, I needed to make it undergo more rounds of juicing than required. The overall efficiency is highly uncertain at best.
